The Informant!

The Informant! is actually very much like Zombieland. Both movies added a comedic twist to a formulaic genre. Zombieland pumps new life into horror genre, and Informant turns whistleblower genre inside out. It is truly unbelievable to learn that the U.S. government’s case against business giant ADM is completely based on the evidence submitted by their star witness, VP turned informant Mark Whitacre (played by Matt Damon), who turns out to be a pathological liar. In the end, we will never be able to tell the truth and lies apart. Even Whitacre may have blurred the line of truth and lies in his mind. Damon gained a lot of weight to play a middle-aged, unattractive executive. He did fairly a good job. The music at times can be overwhelming and in general, it is just not as entertaining as Zombieland.
